Emma Jones CBE has been appointed by the Department for Business and Trade as the new Small Business Commissioner. Emma joins the Office of the Small Business Commissioner (OSBC) having spent 20 years running the business she founded, Enterprise Nation, which works to support small businesses and founders across the UK. As a small business founder and with years of experience working in the business support landscape, including as SME Crown Representative, Emma brings a wealth of experience to the role.
At a time when business owners continue to show so much resilience, Emma has made clear her commitment to make life easier for small businesses and her priorities in order to do so.
1. Technology adoption
Leveraging technology to speed up payments and direct founders to relevant finance and support.
2. Public and private partnership
Results will be delivered in partnership with government at all levels, and with industry, with the aim to free up precious time so businesses can focus on what they do best and go for growth.
3. Cultural change
We will celebrate good business through the Fair Payment Code and continue to challenge companies that pay late and engage in unfair practices.
